So Friday, Richard from http://the-plasterer.com/ came to look at our both room to plaster as well as insulate outside walls. He called me Sunday evening 6.30PM (!) to announce the cost for the work in 5 days: £14,998.50.
It took me strength not to laugh. This morning I emailed to say it was too expensive and someone else quoted us £550 and 3 days for the same work. Back to plasterer hunt again.

£14,998.50?!? There are some places in the UK – not very nice ones, admittedly – where you could buy a HOUSE for that (or at least a large shed).
